Cookie Policy

This site uses Google Analytics cookies, and only if you agree to them. Nothing is set unless you choose to accept, and you can withdraw at any time.

The short version

This site uses Google Analytics, and only if you agree to it.

Nothing is stored on your device, and no request is made to Google, unless you press "Accept analytics" on the banner. If you decline, or if you simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookie is ever set and no data about your visit reaches Google.

That is stricter than most sites. Many load analytics immediately and ask afterwards, or rely on a consent mode that still transmits data before you have answered. This site loads nothing until you say so.

What we use, and what it does

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It tells us that a page was viewed. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not use it for advertising.

We have configured it so that Google Signals and advertising personalisation are switched off, and IP addresses are anonymised.

The cookies it sets, once you have agreed

Cookie Set by Purpose Typical duration
_ga Google Analytics Distinguishes one browser from another so that repeat visits are not counted as new people 2 years
_ga_HR0JR5N6QQ Google Analytics Maintains the session state for this specific property 2 years

One thing that is not a cookie

When you make a choice on the banner, we record that choice in your browser's local storage under the key jc.analytics-consent. We have to remember your answer, otherwise we would have to ask on every page. Storing a record of your consent is treated as strictly necessary and does not itself require consent. It contains nothing except the word granted or denied.

Changing your mind

Select Cookie settings in the footer of any page. The banner will reappear and you can choose again.

If you withdraw consent we delete the Google Analytics cookies from your browser at the same time, so that the decision takes effect immediately rather than merely stopping future collection.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser's own settings, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Analytics on every site you visit.

The other request this site makes

The map on our contact page is drawn using tile images served by the OpenStreetMap Foundation. When that map loads, your browser requests those images directly from their servers, which discloses your IP address to them as any request for an image would.

No cookie is set by this, and no identifier is stored on your device. If you would rather not make that request, the contact page works without it: our address is published as ordinary text beside the map, along with a link you can choose to follow.

Everything else is served by us

Our fonts, stylesheets, images and the mapping library itself are all served from this site's own domain. The site's content security policy blocks connections to any third-party host other than the OpenStreetMap tile servers and, once you have consented, Google Analytics.

There is no advertising, no remarketing, no social media tracking, no heatmapping and no session recording on this site.

If this changes

If the firm later adds anything else that stores information on your device, this page will be updated and the consent mechanism extended before it goes live.
